Living in or visiting the Miracle Mile neighborhood of Los Angeles is a unique experience. If you’re not sure exactly where that is take a look at the map. The Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles is bounded by Fairfax (west), Wilshire (South), and Third Street (North) and LaBrea (East).

When you get here there’s lots of free music, free Friday Night Jazz at LACMA and their Classical Music Sundays continue year round. mostly
Jazz and Classical, but in the summer there is also free Latin Sounds. The El Rey (link), in the heart of the Miracle Mile, has a program of club performances many nights a week.

Movies you can see in the Miracle Mile range from the silents to Hollywood blockbusters as well as art movies and classics. The Bing Theater at LACMA has been running weekend series for over forty years

Families and kids can enjoy all sorts of free activities like a free museum art activity program at LACMA called
The Boone Children’s Gallery that is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from noon until 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11 A.M. to 5 p.m. Family Sundays at LACMA is another way to enage your kids in art activities. The Page Museum of La Brea Tar Pit Discoveries has a free kids day. Every day Hancock Park, the 20 acre green space surrounding LACMA and the Page Museum is open for play.

Shopping for just about anything you want at the Grove (link) or your choice of food at the adjacent Farmers Market (link). What about entertainment? Are you looking for silent movies (at link), commercial features (at link) or a combination of classic and art films at (link) or just pure classics at (link)? Other free entertainment includes outstanding free music programs at LACMA where you can listen to jazz on Friday nights (link) or Classical music on Sunday (link) evenings.
